Recently I have noticed a lot of media coverage showing people connecting with animals, especially with the recent trend in many young people becoming vegan.
The importance of the human connection with animals has never been more important than it is now.
I have been beekeeper and bee carer for past three years, so I know this is true for myself.
I have had a very special connection with my bees, I have sat and meditated with them over a number of years. They have inspired me with my workshops and the bee pilgrimages.
Over the past two years I have been running bee pilgrimages for a small number of women to commune with the bees. We made offerings to the hive as if we were at a sacred temple. Then we received the blessings from the bees in different ways, according to what we needed.
I don't have bees at the moment, but I would like to offer these pilgrimages again next year when I get another swarm in my hive.
The way I communicate with the bees is by humming a gentle hum that comes from my heart. The sound and frequency of the hum relaxes them. It tells them that they are safe. As long as I move slowly, they are happy for me to be there.
The bees were a great comfort to me when a member of my family died a few years ago, I cried, and told them all about what had happened. It seemed like a very natural thing to do.
Here is a link to a very important film about bees, and what is happening to them. Please contact me if you would like to know more.
